Vegetation

Flora and Fauna:

Plants: Douglas Fir, Forage Grass, White Spruce, Lodgepole Pine, Ponderosa Pine, and Bunchgrass/sedges

Lichen and shrubs are found in the alpine regions. Alpine Fir and Englemann Spruce are found in the subalpine regions. Between elevations of 1 200 and 2 300 metres the Englemann Spruce-Subalpine Fir belt is found. The drier regions are mainly dominated by Lodgepole Pine. Whitebark Pine and Alpine Larch are also common.

Wildfires are common and help to keep these forests from spreading too far.

Fun Fact! The national flower of British Columbia is the Cornus Nuttallii!
